Can we play?

That’s one of my creative spots and that’s our lovely groodle Kip eyeing me and saying… Can we go play fetch now daddy… You’ve worked enough today 😀

As leaders and teams in complex global environments dealing with so much everyday means our brain is constantly in overdrive mode…

…We skip from task to task often skimming the issue so that we can get to the next one waiting in our never ending digital inbox…

…In doing so we don’t quite do justice to anything… The issue that needs deep thinking, the colleague who needs attention or our team member who might be asking for help but it barely catches our attention…

Intentionally taking time out in our packed schedule to do something completely different, something that may be lighthearted or if we dare stretching it to play triggers a whole different part of our brain that rests the flight or fight mode and gives us much needed breathing space…

….And heck… It might even give you a much more creative way of solving the problem as backed up by neuroscience research.

I can almost hear you saying… You are asking me to PLAY… Are you serious!!!
